Te KuraHuia will come into her very own on debut EP UHA, a fierce collision of reo Māori, previous university rap and times of influence from the likes of Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj. The four-track fall features defeat-to start with large power opener ‘Poia’, fiery stand-out dance one ‘BMW’ (Undesirable Mana Wahine) and the effective ‘Te Ira Wahine’ additionally snappy radio edit. Te KuraHuia aka Faith Oriwia Henare-Stewart (Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, NgāPuhi, Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Kuia, Ngāi Tahu, Ngāti Apa Ki Te Rā Tō) points out the EP is named for the “historic Māori word for woman. A term to reconnect us to the to start with female, me aro ki te hā o Hineahuone”, and claims that this undertaking is her way of honouring Hineahuone.
Now that UHA is out in complete, Te KuraHuia shifts her target to the roll out of the visual side of the EP, with exclusive screenings lined up over the future couple months.
