R&B History, BMI Exclusive: Inside Royal Studios With Soul Legend Al Green (video)

The two unveiled in 1972, Let’s Remain Together and I’m However in Really like with You, are hailed right now as definitive classics, showcasing the incredible songwriting and vocal talents of Al Green that set a gold regular in soul tunes. BMI’s Shannon Sanders was honored by the rare prospect to sit down with the multiple GRAMMY-successful Al Inexperienced in Royal Studios in Memphis, where these two landmark albums had been recorded, to focus on their creation and enduring legacy.
Helmed by renowned producer/songwriter Willie Mitchell, these information paired Green with the functional Hi-Rhythm Band and captured not only a string of timeless tunes like “La-La for You,” “Love and Pleasure,” “Look What You Accomplished for Me” and, of program, “Let’s Stay Jointly,” but also a pivotal moment in time. These legendary music came with a resonant staying power that has produced them fixtures in the canon of well-known tunes.
