Rina Sawayama’s future album is encouraged by Taylor Swift’s ‘Folklore’.
The ‘Chosen Family’ singer has uncovered how the pop megastar’s 2020 LP, “a collection of tracks and tales that flowed like a stream of consciousness” out of her creativeness, influenced her forthcoming album, ‘Hold the Girl’.
In an interview with Rolling Stone Uk, Rina explained: “I don’t forget when Taylor Swift launched ‘Folklore’, I was like, ‘This b**** is writing about pretend tales and she just wrote a total album. If she can do it, I want to do it.’”
The 31-yr-old singer’s trauma is interwoven into the 13 tunes on the record, but she’s not completely ready to address what she went by way of instantly still.
Rina explained: “For me, it is crucial that the listener is able to hear to it as a pop history initial without having that history, [and] make their personal emotions about it.

“She is so influential to me. I do not really get nervous right before assembly people today, like I did not in advance of meeting Elton [John]. But I was a little bit nervous before meeting Woman Gaga.”
