Australian singer/songwriter, Benji Lewis groups up with producer Tom Eggert to release a rousing and spirited EP, Floating.
Melbourne singer/songwriter has been on our radar for some time. We very first heard the smooth falsetto of the Australian indie musician back again in November of 2021 when he launched ‘Unwind.’ At the time, we loved the “dreamy, chilled, and atmospheric track” as it kicked off the Australian summer season with a splash. Considering that then, he has introduced two further tracks (‘Head Rush’ and ‘Jump This Train’), which are integrated on the EP.
These tracks mixed with two supplemental unreleased tracks (‘Dreamer’ and ‘A Memory’) as effectively as a spoken-word interlude (‘That Initially Day’) round out the 5-observe EP. Together, the EP highlights the personalized turmoil that Lewis was going by for the duration of the producing classes. Generated by very long-time buddy Tom Eggert, Floating was just what Benji essential to transform issues all around, “Last calendar year (2021) was quite major at periods for me, as I’m guaranteed it was for quite a few of you as very well, there was just so much going on that we just experienced to offer with and test to get by just about every day as it arrived.”
He goes on to describe the cathartic aid of expending time with a good friend in familiar environment:
“Getting in the studio with Tom Eggert (a friend and terrific producer based mostly in sunny Brisbane, Australia) was just what I required. All over that week or so of creating this EP, we experienced a lot of laughs, heaps of very good coffee, a handful of beers right here and there… and shared a lot of stories and memories that have been close to us both equally.”
Being aware of that he’s not by itself, Benji’s parting ideas shed some light on what he hopes the listener can get away soon after listening to Floating, “I hope that these songs can give you some convenience in being aware of you are not alone. We all go via tough times through our life, but we get by them, and it does get superior.”
Floating is available on all streaming companies nowadays, June 16, 2022.
